Thanks for your suggestion, but on a whim I uninstalled Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and tried to start Word again.
I think there may have been a microeoft between Malwarebytes and Office. I then r an a System Restore to a version earlier than a Microsoft 10 Update. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
